KUALA LUMPUR: Leading medical/healthcare beds, peripherals and accessories provider LKL International Bhd is upbeat on its future prospects in light of the higher allocation for healthcare services announced in the recently-tabled 2020 Budget. In a statement here, LKL said its strategy of continuously building up product portfolio with new medical accessories and devices positions the group strategically to capitalise on new opportunities set to arise from the government’s pro-healthcare measures. “Furthermore, we have also begun to add healthcare operating systems into our product range to enable our customers to integrate advanced technologies into their operations for increased efficiency, ” said managing director Lim Kon Lian. In the budget, the government announced an allocation of RM30.6 billion for healthcare compared to RM28.7 billion a year ago.
The allocation includes the construction of new hospitals, upgrading and expansion of existing hospitals, and upgrading of medical equipment and ICT services, among others. LKL added a host of products to its range in the past year, including nursing call systems from Alexys Australia, hospital digital solutions and monitoring systems from Melten Taiwan, as well as the Breathair mattress from Toyobo Japan, cleanroom solutions from Dagard France, air purifier systems from Aerus USA and BenQ Medical Technology Corporation’s products, namely ultrasound system, surgical light and surgical tables. During the year, LKL had also secured two contracts worth a total of RM11.0 million to supply medical beds and equipment to Selgate Rawang Hospital and a teaching hospital
and medical academic centre in Mukim Jeram, Selangor by year-end. Lim said the group’s new contracts to supply medical beds and equipment to these new hospitals reinforce its track record as a reliable supplier of medical products to medical organisations. – Bernama
