New Straits Times – LKL’s Exports Surge More Than 170pct In Q4

KUALA LUMPUR: LKL International Bhd’s export sales recovered to RM3.8 million in the
fourth quarter (Q4) ended April 30, 2021, up 171.6 per cent year-on-year, supported by
higher sales of medical beds to the healthcare sectors in Asia, Europe and the Middle East.
LKL executive director Lim Ming Chang said the company also continued to play an active
role in Malaysia’s current response to the Covid-19 pandemic.
This is by increasing the supply of personal protective equipment (PPE) to local
government and healthcare institutions.
“Additionally, we continued to register healthy orders for our medical beds in Malaysia and

overseas to be delivered till end-2021, affirming the largely resilient demand despite short-
term challenges.

“We are confident of supporting healthcare institutions’ increasing investments in medical
infrastructure, equipment and supplies.

“This caters to the needs of growing populations and ensures resilience to future crises,”
he said in a statement today.

For the financial year 2021, the company recorded a net loss of RM3.5 million against a
net profit of RM4.3 million in the previous year, while revenue slid 9.16 per cent to RM49.92
million from RM54.95 million.

Lim said the company remained optimistic that its prospects would be complemented by
robust levels of healthcare expenditure.

“Furthermore, we are optimistic of our new joint venture into our innovative chain of lifestyle
pharmacies in the Klang Valley, which focuses on total health and wellness including
providing high quality food and supplements,” he added.
